Starting out on your orthodontic treatment journey
Starting out on your orthodontic treatment journey is an exciting time and our member clinics make it as easy as possible to enjoy the many benefits of orthodontic treatment, not least a beautiful new smile.
If you’re considering orthodontic treatment, it may help to know that you can start your journey to beautifully straight teeth in three easy steps. Here’s how:
Step 1: Initial consultation
Our teeth are all different, not one of us has teeth the same. This means that your orthodontic treatment will be very different to any other patient. To ensure your orthodontist can tailor a treatment plan specifically to your needs, you will need to book an initial consultation. This is so your orthodontist can assess what treatment you mayrequire. Many of our member practices offer a no-obligation, free consultation so check what your nearest TIO offers new patients.
Step 2: Oral health assessment
At your initial consultation, there are some key pieces of information your orthodontist will require in order to make an informed recommendation of your treatment:
- X-rays – these may be taken to give your orthodontist insight into how your teeth are sitting and where they need to move to be straightened.
- Photographs – these photos of your teeth will also help your orthodontic team to determine the extent of your treatment.
- Medical records – you will also be required to provide your orthodontic team with any medical history but specific information will be requested by the clinic team.
Step 3: Quote for treatment
Our member clinics know that most patients want to know how much treatment will cost before they commit to it. Because the price of treatment differs depending on your orthodontic needs, you can expect to receive a quote for your treatment alongside your tailored treatment plan.
Many of our member clinics have payment plans to help make treatment affordable so ask them for information on their flexible finance options.
